Securing the long-term well-being of the planet and its inhabitants is my interest. If something threatens that aim, I don't like it.
I am the drummer in the Portland, OR-based Cure tribute band theXplodingboys. I was the drummer in the band Mr.Downstairs from 1997 to 2004. I work at Hewlett Packard. I have a solo album under the name newphase and just edited a book called 'Reform at Victory' by Michele Ulriksen.
I believe that sustainable thinking addresses virtually every societal, environmental, and economical problem the planet faces today. I figured the business world could change a lot of things very fast if it understood the issues and saw the benefits, so I got an MBA degree to learn how to explain them in 2006. World-wide activity since then has confirmed my suspicions. I am steadily working my way towards a sustainability career but am starting to get antsy.
I find it patronizing how I am often spoken to like a child by people in high places, so I don't do it. I HATE PARTISAN HACKS. Life is a million shades of gray and I guarantee a correlation between people telling you different and people promoting a book or TV show.
My blogs are entertainment and enlightenment, not a research paper. If you're curious about where something came from, please ask me.
"In the long run we are all dead" is a call to action, not a justification to do nothing.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a good one.
